True Friends
When you are real, true friends, time doesn't matter. Winnie and I have been friends for many, many years (longer than some of you are old). We haven't been able to spend as much together in the past years, but we met for supper last night at Cracker Barrel. In one way, it was as if we had just spent time together last week - the love, kindred spirit, and friendship were the same. On the other hand, we were there almost 3 hours and it didn't even scratch the surface on catching up with each other. I couldn't believe we had been there that long. Of course, we did take time to show off pictures of our grandchildren - as I've said before, nothing like being a grandma! The last few minutes of our time together we spent rocking on the porch and laughing - laughing at the way we were hanging onto our purses while we rocked, laughing at how stiff we felt and didn't know if we could get up, and counting to 3 to get up and then laughing so hard we weren't sure we would be able to get up. Obviously, we stood up or I wouldn't be typing in my blog (ha, ha). Winnie is off to take two of her grandbabies to Disney World in a few weeks. It will be her 37th trip - you see it's one more thing Winnie and I have in common - we are both kids at heart and love to have fun! Have a great time, Winnie! We left our rockers, hugged, and promised we'd get together again after her trip. Can't wait!
